One Direction won a prize at last night’s NME Awards – but probably not the one they were hoping for.

The X Factor lads, who are currently touring America, were named Worst Band.

Justin Bieber was also mocked at the do when he was labelled Villain Of The Year and awarded Worst Album for Under The Mistletoe.

Kasabian, on the other hand, took home the Best British Band gong, while Florence And The Machine won Best Solo Artist.

1D probably aren’t too worried, though, as they’re currently proving hugely popular in the States as they support Big Time Rush on tour.

And it was only last month that they were handed a Best British Single Brit Award for their debut track What Makes You Beautiful.
