AFTER weeks of speculation fuelled by tantalising Twitter threads, it’s official – Harry “Babyface” Styles and Caroline “Cougar” Flack are an item…

The One Direction singer finally confirmed showbiz’s worst-kept secret, when he revealed that he and 32-year-old Xtra Factor host Caroline are “really happy together”.

Well, sort of…

Within seconds of making his declaration of love while beaming like the child he is at Christmas, Harry backtracked with lightning velocity.

Panicking, stuttering and looking awkward, he twice declared: “I don’t want to talk about my personal life.”

When we ploughed on regardless, asking Harry if he had met Caroline’s family yet, he tried to change the subject – joking that he was secretly dating bandmate Louis Tomlinson.

Then loyal Zayn Malik chipped in with: “He’s already said he didn’t want to discuss his personal life.”

Which made us feel about 12 – or, indeed, Harry’s age. But the floppy-haired 17-year-old is clearly one happy chappy at the moment.

Seven weeks into his fledging romance with Caroline, there was no keeping the beam off his gorgeous, dimpled face.

And he was still smiling as she waved him off on the band’s UK tour – although she appeared to wipe a
tear from her eye. Bless.

We caught up with Harry and the rest of One Direction before they took to the stage for their storming gig in Wolverhampton last night.

Chatting to the lads in their backstage dressing room – which came complete with a sauna and jacuzzi – Harry said: “I don’t really want to talk about my private life but I’m happy. We’re good friends.”

When we complimented him on being a little too media-trained, he turned to his publicist and exclaimed: “Well trained. Woo! You hear that?”

So, there we have it: Harry and Caroline, game on.

Ever since the rumours of a romance started circulating, “Styck” – Styles and Flack, geddit? Oh, never mind – have got some, well, stick, over their 17-year age gap. And One Direction’s mentor, Simon Cowell, isn’t helping matters. The X Factor guru recently sent the boys some £200 bottles of champagne – well, all of them bar Harry who is still underage.

Liam Payne revealed: “When we did the charity single, Simon sent us all some amazing bottles of Dom Perignon champagne each.

“He sent Harry some alcohol-free champagne… Simon caters for everyone’s needs. He really is a good guy.”

Keen to get his own back, Harry joked that the lads were sending Simon, 52, some colouring books and crayons for Christmas.

Louis added that they planned to send him some condoms, too.

Also going in the multi-millionaire’s Christmas stocking are some signed 1D dolls.

Harry is not the only member of the band who is off the market.

Liam is loved up with his dancer girlfriend Danielle Peazer, and Louis, who turns 20 tomorrow, is happy with his long-term girlfriend Eleanor Calder.

That just leaves Niall Horan and Zayn single – with Niall admitting that he would love to have a girlfriend in 2012.

Harry recorded the Directioners last night in Manchester, during One Direction’s concert. Someone loved the Nikon advert, huh? 😉

Harry Styles has moved to put an end to rumours surrounding his relationship with Caroline Flack once and for all by announcing he is most definitely single.

The One Direction heartthrob was forced to admit during an interview with a radio station that he is on the market when he and his other bandmates – Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne -were put on the spot.

17-year-old Styles has been linked to the Xtra Factor host Flack, 15-years his senior, since the pair reportedly shared a kiss at an X Factor party.

A string of romantic dinner dates, coy interview chats and even overnight stays at her pad later and neither Harry or Caroline have moved to confirm or deny they are dating.

But in an interview due to be aired at the start of next year, the curly-haired teenager finally decided to stop the gossiping and put his fans out of their misery by revealing he is not dating the leggy 32 year-old.

The revelation came about when Real Radio’s David Heane asked the five boys: ‘Well, I obviously have to ask about love lives and things that are going on so can we go around the group?’

The boys straight away took up the challenge, saying: ‘I’m single, I’m Niall. I’m Louis and I’m not single. I’m Liam and I’m not single. I’m Zayn and I’m single.’

And with the spotlight then firmly fixed on Harry, he was forced to nervously admit: ‘I’m Harry, hello…… Hi……. Hi….. I’m single.’

This news will no doubt come as a blow to Caroline, who was pictured waving him off as she said goodbye to him ahead of the band’s UK tour – kicking off in Wolverhampton on Wednesday night.
The pair parted ways when she dropped him off and was then seen with tears in her eyes as Harry walked away from her car.
